Fab 'n' Funky Challenge #127 - My first Post as new DT Member

Good day everyone,
I'm so happy to show you my first entry into the Fab 'n' Funky Challenge as a DT Member.  What a great week to start because the theme is my favourite style.... "Cute or Girlie".  I hope you like what I've created and will play along with us in the challenge.

I used a Saturated Canary image called Nevaeh.  Now, she is not new, but this is the first time I've coloured her.   I think she is so girlie...and cute :)   I tried something different when colouring her dress...I used Prismacolor pencils with solvent when I was finished with my copics.  You just need to remember not to go back with your copics because you will ruin the nib!

Here is a list of the dies I've used:

Memory Box Cherry Blossom for the flower
                              Memory box Catalina Border
                             Spellbinders  Antique Frame and Accents
DP is SU Baja Breeze and edges have been sponged with Baja Breeze ink.

Copics:
Hair:  E49, E44, E42, E40
Dress:  YR02, YR00, YR000
BG72,  BG70,  small amount of BG75
Prismacolor Pencils:  Orange
White dots made with Sharpie Poster-Paint Extra Fine Point

I will be entering the following challenges:
Make It Monday Challenge #95 - Always Anything Goes
Tammy's Scrapin Corner #16 - Anything Goes with Any Artist
Party Time Tuesday #74  - Anything Goes
ROBIN UPDATE...poor bird was so confused when I put the umbrella down. He had only put up a few twigs - the rest he had on the table in preparation.  I relocated them to another spot in the garden.  We have several large, mature trees and cedars on our property... why the table umbrella?   He must have heard I like to cook and didn't want to be late for dinner :)

I also want to extend a big warm welcome to my new followers.  Your lovely words of encouragement mean so much to me - thank you so very much.   Hugs, Pat K.

A Copic Lovers Birthday

Good day everyone,
...and here comes another  wooohooo  - my fun continues :)   I am so pleased to tell you that I'm now a new DT member of the Fab'n'Funky Challenge!  I will be posting my first project next Wednesday so please stay tuned!  Thank you ladies for selecting me to be a part of your awesome team!  Judith you are my new BFF....hugs!

This Saturated Canary is a freebie over at Copic Markers Europe.  They are celebrating their 1st Birthday so they teamed up with Saturated Canary and Wee Stamps to give us 2 freebies, as long as you make a card with one of them and enter their challenge. There is also a draw for some fabulous prizes - best to read the fine print.

I've used the Saturated Canary digi and coloured her with Copics.  Now this card should be for MY birthday!   I do love my Copics.  I had a brain wave and created the DP in word using numbers of some of my favourite markers.

My ribbon is an old MS, the acrylic tag is a Tim Holtz, flowers from WOC and corner die is a Memory Box called Madera Corner.  I ran it thru my Xyron and added Glamour dust but it's hard to see in the photo.

I will be entering the following challenges:

Moving Along With The Times - Birthday
Crafts & Me Challenge #89 - Anything Goes
Make It Monday #94
Ruby's Rainbow Challenge #31 - Black, White + One other Colour

Now I'm off to chase away a robin who insists on building a nest in my patio umbrella !!  I guess I'll have to put the umbrella down because he is not getting the message....that's MY umbrella (lol).  Temp today should reach over 34 deg.c - yikes!

Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by.  Your lovely comments are always appreciated.  Hugs, Pat K.x

Baby Picture Frame

Hi Everyone!
It's time again for another challenge at the Creative Belli Challenge.  Today starts Challenge #146 which is Anything but a Card.   I had so much fun doing this one - hardest part was making up my mind.  I finally settled on a picture frame that I bought on clearance at Michaels last year.  I always pick up sale items, with the best of intentions - sometimes I actually use them :)

I mixed several acrylic paints to get the colour I needed to cover the base of the frame and match the Graphic 45 Little Darlings Collection DP.   I used a large MS punch-around-the-page punch to do the lacey mat.  The flower I made using SB blossom dies and coloured the petals with Shimmerz (Opal).  The leaves are from SB Foliage Die and Baby is a Marianne Designs.   I die cut the baby's name using QuicKutz Studio Classic.   The chipboard was from my stash and I coloured it with the acrylic mix I made up.

Frame is 8x8 inches

Here's a picture of the wooden frame I used:

I will be entering this into the Crafty Mess Challenge #111,   Use Paint
Ooh La La Creations Challenge #107  - Baby, Baby  - Top 3 Thank You
Crafty Cardmakers Challenge #70  - No cards, tags or ATC

This is my first time doing a frame - I think I could do with a little more practice but am pleased with how this turned out. Thanks for stopping by and we'd love it if could play along on this fun challenge.

Hugs, Pat K.

Father's Day - Spitfire

Hello everyone, It's been awhile..!  I've been busy with several projects and  have some exciting news.....but you'll have to wait for a few more days :)

For now, I have a Father's Day card for you.  I've used my go-to papers for this one - Graphic 45, A Proper Gentleman. The digital stamp is from Delicious Doodles called Spitfire.  My husband is a history buff, so I thought he would like this.   The embellishments are from Graphic 45 Staples, Envelope Tags and  Chipboard Buttons..   MS bakers twine also used.  The ticket is from a Imag-E-nation digis printed on kraft.  Oh, and I printed the sentiment using a font called Air Conditioner....I think it's pretty cool for vintage (oooh excuse the pun).

Copics: YG93, YG91, YG61

Beautiful Dancer

We went to watch our 2 youngest granddaughters dance last night at their year end performances.  It is always a treat to see how well our budding stars perform and we are so very proud of them. Lauren auditioned and was accepted at the School of Alberta Ballet Summer Intensive and the Canadian Contemporary Dance Theatre Sundance Summer School  - pretty big stuff for a 9 year old!  She is so much like her Mom, a beautiful dancer, who always made us so proud and still is the best daughter ever!  ( imho of course..insert smile )

So here is one of the cards I made for the girls.   I used an ADFD digital stamp called Pink Ballerina and coloured it with copics.   Another of my favourite SB dies used and mats were embossed with SU square lattice folder.

OH gotta mention....over at Fab N Funky Challenges they are having a DT call and I'm going to apply.  Wish me luck :)  They seem like such a fun group!

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:

Paper Take Weekly - Anything Goes
Speedy Fox & Friends Challenge #111 - Black & White, with a splash of color
City Crafters Challenge #112 - Coppelia   - I'm a Spotlighted Artist

Pickles & Ice Cream

Hello everyone,
Just want to take a minute to thank my followers, old and new.  Your lovely comments mean so much and are so encouraging.   I debated over 6 months before I began this journey and wonder now why it took me so long.  I truly am enjoying myself and hope that I inspire you in some way.

Now, on to today's card.  I've used a Krista Smith digital from Saturated Canary called Ice Cream & Pickles.   How fitting for a new Mom-to-be.

I started with the sketch on Try Stampin' on Tuesday Challenge #69 - (ooh I won) but think I might have strayed a little  ~ artistic license I hope (lol). The DP is from a Basic Grey collection "Nook & Pantry" and the sentiment is a LOTV set.     Martha Stewart edge punch was used  and I paper pieced her maternity top with paper from the same collection.

My usual Copic colours for brown E29, E25, E23 and E21 were used for her hair.  Skirt was coloured with RV10,  RV00 and RV000.   Skin tones are E11, E01, E000, E0000 and R20 for the cheeks.   I dotted different colours on the ice cream to represent sprinkles.

Entering into the following challenges:

Fab n Funky Challenge #124   - Green   - I won
Crafting for All Seasons #28  - Many Layers
Digital Tuesday Challenge #163 - Anything goes
Craft your Passion #113 - Chevrons - I Won
Fashionista Challenge #3  - Simply Summer  (thought the ice cream was fitting :)

Saturated Canary Challenge #19  - Anything goes

Hope you all have a great day.  Hugs, Pat K.

Creative Belli Challenge #145 - Sentiment Only

This is my first post as a DT member of the Creative Belli Blog and it's my pleasure to mention to you today that there is a new challenge .   For the next two weeks we would like to see a Sentiment Card which means it must have a sentiment and no images for Challenge #145.

Here is what I created for you.  Lots of oldies from my stash on this card.  The design paper is from an old stack of Websters Pages - sorry I do not know the name of the pad as there are only pieces left. I created my sentiment in Word and printed it on SU Blush Blossom (discontinued).   The button is from an old Making Memories collection Vintage Findings - I had my DH file the back down so it will lay flat.  There are 5 types of ribbon on this card- one matches the SU Basic Gray mat. The frame is a SB Antique Frame & Accents die and the mat underneath has been embossed with the CB swiss dot folder.  Bow maker was used to make the bows.

So please don't forget to check us out at the Creative Belli Blog and see what my awesome teamies have come up with. We would love it if you could join us.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Papertake Weekly Challenge - anything goes
Make it Monday #62 - anything goes - Thanks Shirley-anne
The Cutie Pie Challenge #19 - Die cuts - I'm in the Top 4

Thanks for stopping by. Hugs, Pat K.

Hanglar Stanglar Cutie

I dusted off my Hanglar stamps and have fallen in love with them again.  I was fortunate enough to buy several sets in rubba last year when they went on sale on Ebay.  Sure do miss being able to get them.
The bunting and crown are digitals from Cardmad Fairy Creations - couldn't resist.  We were glued to the TV on Sunday watching the Jubilee celebrations.  It inspired me to create this red, white and blue card with kind of a nautical theme.

I used an old pad of PinkPaislee - 365 Degrees for the DP with the exception of the gingham which was scrap.    Tied white wool in a square knot for an accent.

Crafting your Days Away #46, Cardmadfairy's Digi Days Challenge #34  and One Stop Craft Challenge #185 would like to see red, white, blue - plus crowns or diamonds for One Stop Craft so I will enter in all these challenges.  I used the sketch from Lovely Hanglar Challenge #44 so will enter there as well.

Here is a close up for you,

Copics:  E11, E01, E000, E0000, R20
E21, E23, E25, E29
R29,R24, R22
B29, B23, B31
Gold Smooch was added to the crown.

Thanks for stopping by and I really do enjoy your lovely comments. Thanks so much.  Hugs, Pat K.

Little Darlings Graphic 45

I'm off to a baby shower on Sunday.  My longtime friend and enabler, Vera, is going to be a first time grandmother, even though she is waaaay to young (lol).    I used paper from the Graphic 45 "Little Darlings Collection".  They have the most adorable baby pictures that make for quick cards.   This is a different shape for me....the bottom is a Grand Nestabilities Label Eleven and the top uses a Grand Nestabilities Label One.  The frame is SB Antique Frame & Accents and the word Baby is a Marianne Designs.   Tim Holtz tattered rose is sponged on the edges.  Silk ribbon and rosette finish it off.  Card size is 6x6 inches.

I will be entering this card into the Divas by Design Challenge #37, Anything goes.   Party time Tuesday also has an anything goes theme so I'll enter there as well.  This will be the first time I'm entering in Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge #80.   Crafting for All Season Challenge #28 is looking for many layers and I have 6 plus embellishments so I'm in there as well. Craft you Passions #112 is for Baby so I'm adding this one too.

That's it for now.  Have a lovely weekend and thanks for stopping by.
Hugs, Pat K.
